Merriam Webster defines "Pull a Boner " as Make a blunder, as in I pulled an awful boner when I mentioned his ex-wife. This expression is derived from the noun bonehead, for “blockhead” or “stupid person.” [Slang; early 1900s]
Flappr is proud to present the Anthony D. Weiner Memorial Boner of the Year Award. The award itself is dedicated to the memory of one of the biggest boners in modern history (not really that big, tbh), Anthony David Weiner.
This award is granted to a recipient who's unbridled horniness is so far off the bonk meter, that it ruins their career and the careers of those around them.
Accordingly, we can think of nobody more deserving of the 2021 Anthony D. Weiner Memorial Boner of the Year Award than the 56th Governor of New York, Andrew Mark Cuomo.
Like his father, Mario Cuomo, Andrew was a three-term-Governor of New York who appeared poised to cakewalk his way to term number four.
That is… until New York Attorney General Letitia James released a damning report in August accusing Gov. Cuomo of sexually harassing 11 women, 9 of whom were current or former state employees.
Andrew Cuomo’s constant need to flirt with women he had no business flirting with (either because of their age or the nature of their professional relationship to Cuomo) seemed like an unbreakable addiction for the eldest Cuomo son.
Once the first allegation was launched, more and more women came forward and more evidence came out that painted Cuomo as a powerful man that was very comfortable being inappropriate with women that were not his girlfriend or wife:
While some of these things could, in theory, be attributed to being flirty, or trying to make a joke that the recipient took the wrong way, or just . . . being Italian, Cuomo's behavior was beneath the power the public bestowed upon him.
Once a current staffer came forward to allege that he sexually assaulted her in the Governor's mansion, the media, which only months earlier called him "a national leader", the "leader of the Democratic party" and pondered whether or not he would run for president, could no longer save him.
Cuomo announced his resignation in disgrace on August 10, 2021 and but also cost his younger brother, Fredo, a $5 million-a-year CNN job after it was revealed that Fredo reached out to his media friends in an attempt to shape the media’s response to the embarrassing allegations.
This award makes Andrew Cuomo is Flappr's first multiple award winner, after being the recipient of last year's Fraud of The Year Award.
The 2021 runner up for this award goes to the entire country of Australia.
Shortly after voluntarily giving up their guns, the Australian government began cracking down on its citizens harder than any other government in the world.
Let's see how these policies are working out:
Oh, so taking children taken away, arresting people and putting them in quarantine camps isn't doing to slow the spread, huh?
It sucks for you, but us gun loving Americans are happy to now have an example of what we never want to happen here.
