Today is a day that ends in "y", so of course said something incoherent. What insanely weird or confused thing did he say today? Let's take a look:
I am going to attempt to transcribe what was just said by Biden in that 20 second clip:
"Covid has taken this year, just since the outbreak, has taken more than 100 year. Look, here, the lives, its just, <unintelligible>, when you think about it, more lives this year than any other year in the last 100 years."
- Joe Biden, August 31, 2020.
Yup, I got no clue what he was trying to say there.
The speech itself was an interesting one. Biden had planned on flying into Kenosha to deliver his address, but changed his mind and flew to Pittsburgh, instead. An odd choice, since Pittsburgh is a place where there hasn't been any reported violence of which I am aware. Alternatively, Kenosha remains a charred husk after several nights of violence, looting and burning shit has resulted in at least 30 businesses being destroyed. It seems as though the Biden campaign is betting on the President's visit to Kenosha tomorrow backfiring and with Biden reaping the benefit.
In the speech, Biden DID condemn the violence and looting and rioting and burning that is plaguing the country right now, but he did so without condemning the actual people responsible for the violence, the looting, the rioting and the burning (Biden voters):
Hey, that's at least something, but it's also the first time he's given a speech directly condemning the actions of his voters and he didn't even call out BLM and/or Antifa, who appear to be responsible for much of the chaos we're seeing, by name. It's also worth noting that this chaos has been going on for nearly three months and Biden has remained silent, including throughout the entire 4 days of the DNC. Violence and looting was as wrong three months ago as it was today and yet - this is the first time we're seeing him take a firm stance.
I'm sure the press asked him some questions about that, right? RIGHT? I'm sure they didn't let him just give a rambling 12 minute speech and then walk off the stage without answering ANY QUESTIONS, right?
Oh. I guess it really is just a day than ends in "y" and the media is doing what the media has done for several years - try and run cover for those it favors.
To top things off, there was also this hilarious glitch during the speech, which was obviously a technical error, but is reminiscent of the typical Biden blunder:
Nothin ever seems to go right when you put Joe in front of a camera, does it? Probably why they try and keep him locked in the basement as much as possible.
President Trump visits Kenosha tomorrow, we will cover his visit and let you know how that goes.
Happy Monday, everyone.
