I am going to try and be nice today, because Brian Stelter has had what appears to be having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
For those of you who are unaware, Brian Stelter is one of the most . . . umm . . . disliked people in media by people right of center. Stelter has a reputation of being . . . umm. . . pretty biased in his coverage of things in certian circles, because . . . umm . . . he is pretty biased in what he reports and what he DOESN'T report (this is a topic for an entire long essay, which I am not prepared to write today, but someday). Known as the "media's hall monitor" by some, Stelter hosts a show on CNN called "Reliable Sources" (lol), which is basically an hour long Sunday morning show where Brian rails on Fox News and Trump's lies and blah blah blah blah liberal hack shit.
Here is one memorable clip from "Reliable Sources" (lol):
Yeah. . . that didn't age well.
Back to yesterday where, in effort to promote his book "Hoax", Brian appeared on the show “Washington Journal” on C-SPAN, which allows callers to questions to guests live-on air. Well, one caller from Minnesota got through and. . . well, just watch:
“You guys always talk about how many times Trump has lied, I’ve calculated and, I think with your chyrons... I don’t know if there are any journalists left at CNN but I know that, if I were to estimate, about 300 different distortions or misinformation that we get out of CNN,” the caller said. “And you have to watch them in the airport, which is harsh, but if you added all that up to 46 months, it comes out to be 300,000-plus distortions of truth.”
- BASED C-SPAN Caller from Minnesota, August 31, 2020.
Now I don't know if 300,000-plus is an accurate number of 'distortions of truth', but wow. . . that caller laid the HAMMER to the man Tucker Carlson called a 'eunuch' and Sean Hannity dismissively refers to as "Humpty-Dumpty". To Brian's credit, he admits that journos are basically all east-coasters and biased, but he's not going to do anything about that. . . so, Brian can get bent.
Fast forward to earlier today, when Brian fell for an expert troll by one our own, @mcmurphy_pat on Twitter:
If you look closely, Mr, McMurphy carefully changed some of the words on the book cover, and Brian didn't examine the photo before smashing that RT button. So... Brian RT'd a meme calling him a "New York Times Best Selling FABRICATOR". Ouch.
Oh Brian, what are we going to do with you? You're an unabashed hack and you contribute so much to the division that you say you stand against. You're such a hack, you out hacked Jennifer Rubin in @comfortablysmug's inaugural #LiberalHack Tournament:
Yet, you're so oddly put together and have such an odd voice that I cannot truly hate you.
Such is life.
