WATCH: Biden Calls Coast Guard Graduates 'Dull'

Today is a day that ends in "y", so of course Joe Biden did or said something in keeping with his current level of coherence.

What did he do today? Let's take a look:

and this isn't the first time Biden has made off-color remarks to military personnel, back in 2016, while he was VP, he said this to a room full of troops:

Now, I know everyone's first inclination is to begin pumping up the rage adrenaline, but if we're going to do that, let's make sure we're picking the right targets.

To me, at least, this is a weird, pathetic, attempt to try and get applause for a failed joke. I think that Biden was trying to be cute with his audience and didn't really intend to insult this class of Coast Guard graduates. I know this is giving him the benefit of the doubt and that many are unwilling to do that in this day and age, but it's what I believe. Should Biden behave like when invited to speak at a graduation? No, but I think this video is more evidence of feebleness than intended cruelty.

This doesn't mean that you shouldn't be frustrated, because we all know the media would be pumping out nuclear-level takes if Trump had made the same comments. Talking heads from CNN, MSNBC, NPR and the lot would've turned this poor attempt at a joke into a week long news cycle, where they would've brought on retired generals, veterans, and presidential historians to explain why, these comments were, actually, a threat to democracy and an insult to every man, woman and they/them that had ever served.

This is one of the more egregious sins the media committed during the previous administration, instead of trying to report on things in proper context - they spent 4 years calling every mole hill, a mountain. The result? Everyone on the center-right is looking to apply the same standard to Biden, only the media is choosing to return to Obama era "look the other way" tactics.

This leaves many of us feeling very annoyed, frustrated and in a place where we are looking to play by rules we don't necessarily support. I'm not sure there is a perfect answer here, but I do think there is value in being intellectually honest with your criticisms and pointing your fire where it's truly deserved.

Happy Hump Day and God Bless America.
