No, The Pandemic Hasn't Been Harder on Some Kids More than Others
Everyone who isn't part lizard knows that school has been pretty hard on kids since March, 2020.
It's been hard on boys, and hard on girls.
It's been hard on jocks and nerds.
It's been hard on moms and dads.
It's been hard on teachers (outside of roach infested, sapphire cities).
It's been hard on kids whether they're White, or Black, or Hispanic, or Asian. It's been hard on the ones with good homes and bad homes. It's been hard on the ones with binders full of friends, and on those with just a few. In fact, no matter how you divide up kids, this nonsense has definitely taken its toll.
So this was neat:
HOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE STUDENTS' MENTAL HEALTH, YOU FUCKING LUNATICS?!
First off, I'm sick of hearing about how such-and-such circumstances are harder for gay kids. Things are hard for everyone, buck the fuck up. If I'm to believe the headlines and the pundits, the entire gay community has been in the throes of a complete group psychotic break for the better part of 15 years. Either certain vocal people need to calm down, or we need to start screening every professed homosexual for every mental illness in the DSM-5. Since that second option sounds decidedly Third Reich-y, let's try calming down instead.
Second off, the absolute gall of these ghouls. Here's a non-exhaustive list of everyone else the (fake) pandemic hysteria has been hard on:
Adults (Straight and Alphabet).
Small business owners.
Small business employees.
Newly minted adults trying to leave home for the first time.
Kids who have to watch siblings.
You get the picture.
Guess who else has experienced increased loneliness, anxiety, and depression since the pandemic began?
EVERYONE! LITERALLY EVERYONE BECAUSE HUMANS ARE SOCIAL CREATURES! THIS ISN'T HARD! THIS ISN'T EVEN NEW! LGBTQ+ KIDS AREN'T SPECIAL! DO A STUDY ON THE OTHER 90% OF KIDS YOU SIMPERING URBAN HAYSEEDS!
It's holiday time at Goon HQ, but thankfully we still had some around to provide some perspective.
Yes. Really. No word on how this pandemic might be crushing run of the mill athlete kids and their parents as they try to juggle already intense schedules with new (non-effective) COVID hoops. Nope.
They could have written about literally anything, Dutch, and instead they chose to write about the literal most overplayed angle in the outrage book. Disgusting. Bad journalism is going to kill that poor, innocent doxie.
Mix brings up an interesting point: Politico isn't interested in the kids, just the ones they can treat as science experiments.
Isn't that always the case with the media and the LGBTQ+ community though? It's never really been about acceptance, it's been about publishing stories like dimestore freakshows.
A, C, D, E, F, H, I, J, K, M, N, O, P, R, S, U, V, W, X, Y, Z.
Croc closes with a great point: These people need to stop playing Calvinball and decide what they want. Are we, the greater right-wing, murderous thugs for wanting schools to open they way everything else pretty much is in most of the country? Or are we bigoted and hateful of all that is not-straight?
The very premise of this article implies that the greatest ally of LGBTQ+ is none of the leftist senators who get 100 ratings from Human Rights Campaign while simultaneously screeching for more lockdowns, but is instead Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Either the school closures are a panacea, or they aren't. But the left needs to choose.
